Donations and membership fees help fund numerous projects including rebolting and anchor replacement, trail building, events/climbing community outreach, and education.

SAS is continually working both in public and behind the scenes to preserve access to climbing in Squamish and improve infrastructure at our climbing areas while also educating climbers on etiquette and best practices.

Recent initiatives by SAS include:

• construction and maintenance of the Murrin Loop Trail
• 59 bolts and 61 anchor chains were replaced in 2021
• installation of the picnic table at the accessible Parking Lot Wall in the Smoke Bluffs
• installation of a UDT composting toilet at electric avenue
• new stairs at Pet Wall
• lobbying and advocacy for climbing access including expansion of the Chek Rec Area and reopening of the Grand Wall routes and bouldering closures.
